RESPONSIVE WEB DESIGN

What is Responsive Design?

Responsive web design is a strategy used to design content so that it responds to the environment it’s encountered in user switches from their laptop to iPad, the website should automatically switch to accommodate for resolution, image size and scripting abilities. Website should have the technology to automatically respond to the user’s preferences.

For example, when a user switches for a desktop to a tablet, the website automatically accommodates for resolution, image size, and scripting abilities.

Think of responsive design like water in that it needs to have the ability to flow into whatever container it’s viewed on. This eliminates the need for a different design and development phase for each new gadget on the market.

Why is Responsive Design Important?

The mobile device has become an equal partner to desktop and in many ways has surpassed them. The explosion of clients accessing the web on mobile devices has made designing for mobile screens a requirement not a consideration. If we don’t adapt to changing screens we are going to be restricted to making sites that work part of the time for only part of our audience.
